What to wear, what to bring and tips for the day
- October 31, 2026, falls on a Saturday. West Hollywood and the downtown area will be crowded at night, and there will be road closures. If you drive, decide where to park in advance; if you use a ride-hailing app, decide on an easy pickup and drop-off spot ahead of time.
- Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, and clocks go back one hour. If you are heading to an event on November 1, double-check the time on any clocks other than your smartphone.
- Even if it is warm during the day, it can get chilly at night. Bring layers for nighttime events.
- Each event has its own rules for costume props (such as toy weapons) and bags. Check each official page for what you can bring.
- For kids’ trick-or-treating, brightly colored costumes that are easy to see after dark, reflective gear and a small light give peace of mind. Have an adult check the candy after you get home.
